I just discovered this recently, and actually rated it quite highly! I can see the First Blood rehash argument, but loved how minimal the action plot is, how sparse the soundtrack is, and the Del Toro/Jones performances, along with some interesting subtext/ambiguity about how crazy Del Toro's character is. I definitely need to revisit entries like Bug and Cruising, it's been a few years.
